In order to visit the old Mongolian oak, you have to travel up and down some hills. The kids were keen to make this fun and race to a few finish lines!
Your classroom stories and pictures, Tammy, remind me sometimes of the best Scandinavian tv youth series. The ones about children growing up on islands or near lakes, great trees, green fields and wooden houses, with plenty of room to play, a no-worries environment, where every day brings a new happy adventure. All is in balance and the world is good. If you never saw these shows, then try to get a hold of them and you will understand what I am saying. I somehow always regretted that I did not grow up in such a place. And you are there now. In Asian Scandinavia. And things may only be getting better in the Yukon. I am smiling now and am back in my youth, watching these shows.
A Canadian living in northern Japan on a horse ranch with my Japanese husband. I've always dreamed of residing abroad and having horses...and here I am... Living it! Oh this boundless life!
