Horse Blessing

Walking in the field we came upon about 40 dosanko horses.
Some of the curious younger ones gathered around us to say hello.
It was a gentle encounter.
We were blessed.

This reminds me of......nothing. Or maybe of the time I stumbled into a herd of elephants in Upper Volta (Now Burkina Fasso). They had baby elephants and were a lot less friendly than the great horses that surrounded you in this picture. I was a fast runner and made it in time to the jeep of my German friend, who was friendly enough to wait for me. I'll show you those pictures one day. There is an other story with lemurs and their very soft feet. Some other time. Won't these children miss you and all the fantastic things you do together with them, once you left Hokkaido? Why weren't you my teacher? Wrong place, wrong time maybe? All children in the world should have teachers like you. That would really make a difference, Sallo

Elephants in Upper Volta.
I think you should be writing the blog Sallo.

Thanks for your kind comment about our teaching in Hokkaido.

We will truly miss our students here but have hopes to do more of the same in the Yukon!
